The Musician's Guide to Audio Recording

Introduction: I was first interested in completing a page of frequently asked questions that I regularly hear from clients and individuals interested in, or perhaps even concerned, with the validity of the work I do. I was also eager to dispel myths and misconceptions about sound capture and recording that so extensively invade the opinions and expectations of musicians and directors with no formal training in the field of audio engineering. The result is this informal "guide," which I think will be a valuable asset for musicians pursuing their own recording projects. As a matter of fact, even many engineers, not trained in classical recording techniques or acoustic instrument capture may benefit from the articles in this guide.

Slowly, but surely, I will incorporate more information in this volume. If you are interested in a certain topic, please send an email to recording@rumleymusic.com, and I will try to include and update articles to meet your queries. Until then. Please enjoy.
